About

Hi there, I’m Meschill!

My mission, as a writer, is to glorify God by sharing my story, speaking truth rooted in Scripture, and offering encouragement and comfort to those who are suffering.

I love writing and helping others! Through my struggles, I have come to depend on God for my strength and comfort. During the worst month of my life, I knew that one day God would ask me to share what he has done for me. That day has come. “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” (2 Corinthians 1:3-4)

I have been writing for years, struggling with what God wants me to do. It has become abundantly clear this year, at age 63, that I have to obey rather than wallow in self-doubt. I am currently writing the first of what I hope will be several devotional books for those who suffer similar trials. I’m also seriously trying to complete a memoir that I started 10 years ago about my journey through chronic illness, cancer (my husband), dementia (my mom), and the loss of my 19-year-old daughter. God is not through with me yet. I still have much to learn, but I know that he wants me to share the tough lessons that have brought me to where I am today.

Spending time with the Lord is very important to me, and it would be impossible to get through my days without Him.    I also live with the knowledge, both head and heart, that the best is yet to come because an everlasting home awaits me.  This assurance comes from my faith in my Savior, Jesus Christ.  “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)

When I’m not writing, I like to read, have Sunday dinner with my family, teach the Bible to women, watch birds, but most of all, I love spending time with my grandsons. They call me Monkie!
